Thread: Login issues (wiki, commitfest)
Hi Just a quick heads-up - I am no longer able to log in to wiki.postgresql.org (despite successfully logging in on the main PostgreSQL site) - clicking on the wiki login link causes a redirect to the https site via www.postgresql.org but with no effect. The commitfest login resolutely rejects my login attempts. I guess this is the same issue as mentioned on the reviewers list: http://www.postgresql.org/message-id/CAFjNrYsAYTxP+FFtuZcadmqQjBq9ZhB9naNYeDNyCR+NY=H0Rg@mail.gmail.com FWIW I probably changed my password a few weeks ago, and changed it just now again in the hope it might solve the problem. Regards Ian Barwick

I seem to be having the same problem - I can login on the main site (www), but when I return to the wiki I'm not logged in. I haven't changed my password, and my browser deletes all cookies when I close it. -- Paul Waring http://www.pwaring.com

Just for reference in case it helps, my account was not new (I guess it has been around for a few years); I had changed the password at some point in the last couple of months, but was not able to log into commit fest earlier with that password. (I then went and changed the password). > The wiki issue is new and definitely something different. Hopefully Stefan > or someone else on the team can look into that one. I did do the usual clear cookies thing, as well as trying from another browser. FWIW, when the login was working, I got HTTP 500 errors when trying to login from anywhere except the wiki index page. Thanks for any assistance :) Ian Barwick

Note that due to a design flaw in mediawiki, if you click an "HTTP" link instead of an "HTTPS" link, you are sent to a not-logged-in page. However I'm not 100% sure yet on what exactly is causing the issue, it seems related to the mediawiki/OS upgrade from the weekend but it might take a while to solve that :( Stefan

This being the commitfest page issue only - not the wiki issue. You need to log in once to the main www.postgresql.org website for things to be properly updated, and once you've done that you should be able to log in to the cf site again. If you already have a persistent session on the main website you need to first log out and then back in - it's not enough to just access a logged-in resource. Works for me.

Oddly enough I now get an internal server error on the main PostgreSQL site after clicking on the Login link on the wiki, but I guess that's Someone Else's Problem. Regards Ian Barwick
