PostgreSQL User Group in Singapore

From
Sameer Kumar
Date:
Hi,

We have a usergroup in Singapore and have been doing some informal meetups. We are going to formalize and make it more organized.

We will be registering on meetup and will be organizing meetups and events.

Please help us setup a mailing list for Singapore PostgreSQL Users.

Web folks, can you create a mailing list for Sameer? I think the
appropriate one would be sgs_pug? Or maybe just singaporepug ...

I forwarded your list request to pgsql-www.

Do you need financial help to jump-start the PUG at all?

I forwarded your list request to pgsql-www.

Thanks a lot! I guess pugsea or pug_sea would be more appropriate. I see we already have folks from Jakarta interested in this and i have seen good traction for PostgreSQL in other countries in South East Asia as well.

I will be replying to your email to inform pgsql-www folks.

Any financial or strategic help will be appreciated. It will be great if folks from this user group can share success stories of building a similar user group in other regions/countries.

Not a good choice. We already have a SeaPUG, an active group in the greater Seattle area.

Someone with rights to create the mailing list needs to do so.  When that is done, I will add it to the PUG list.

Hi,

There has not been any updates on this thread?
Any idea whom do I need to talk to/email to for this?

BTW we have completed 2 PUGS meetups in Singapore. Last meetup we got a decent crowd of people who are using PostgreSQL. Is there place where we can share the pictures?

The Singapore PUG is already listed on the community page - http://www.postgresql.org/community/user-groups/

I pinged some of the pginfra people to see if they can create the list, because yes, this has taken way too long.

Awesome!  I would keep using the meetup page to share photos - we do the same with NYCPUG.  We currently don't have anything to add photos for PUGs to the main PostgreSQL page.

Best,

Jonathan

Yeah! I remember getting that up. :)

Thanks! :-)

Please note that though we are organizing events in Singapore but would like to expand and hence from mailing list perspective would like to keep it as South East Asia PUGS. The name/mailID for list can be as per the standards followed/respected.

I've added a link to the list on the PUGs page. Thanks!

Thanks a lot!

I've added a link to the list on the PUGs page.  Thanks!

Thanks for acting quick! We will share it across and hope to see more and people joining in. :)
