Maybe simplify it a bit:

select to_char('2011-01-01'::timestamp,'DD/MM/' || to_char(now(),'YYYY'));

or per Michaels suggestion:

select to_char('2011-01-01'::timestamp,'DD/MM/' || date_part('year',
now()));
