Hi,

Could you tell why it is less secure to run postmaster in IP sockets
than using Unix sockets ?

TIA

PS: I am awaiting for the final release of Postgres' book , as a not-e.professional
working in a not-dot.industry I still prefer a book's touch over a monitor's glare ...

I'll take a stab at this. Unix sockets are confined to the
single machine in question. IP Sockets are (potentially)
open to the network. Larger population of intruders.
