Dear PostgreSQL Professionals:

I have a very immediate need for a PostgreSQL Database Administrator (US Citizen/Green Card Holder) to work on-site in the Cincinnati area.  Unfortunately, at this time, remote work is not a possibility.

This position will work on a very dynamic team that is primarily responsible for designing, architecting and supporting state-of-the art innovations in a large enterprise environment.  This is a fantastic opportunity and I would like to speak with anyone who may be interested/available.

Requirements:  

• 5+ years Database Configuration & Management, Query Optimization, and System Tuning

·         Proficient in Java programming – some experience in Scala preferred but not required.  This would be a great opportunity to learn the skill set

·         Familiarity or proficiency in Ruby (not Rails), Bash etc. a plus

• Happy to work in either PostgreSQL or MySQL

• Database monitoring and performance tuning 
• Familiarity with both OLTP and OLAP database design principals
• Demonstrate ability to learn our code base and process quickly 
• Be intellectually curious yet ready to share with others
• Bonus skills; Chef, Postgres replication, Cassandra, Hadoop, liquibase and data warehouses Experience with Splunk
• Experience with all phases of product development lifecycle, including prototyping, test and product release and maintenance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences or related field, or equivalent work experience
