incompatibility with crystal reports?

From

For some unknown reason Crystal Reports doesn't like some of the fields
coming from a postgresql database.

CR v8 + Win32 + latest ODBC driver + postgres 7.2.1.

What is happening is it won't let me 'browse data' for a field when
selecting fields to report on, nor will it let me 'group by' any text fields
- only integer.

The "text as longvarchar" ODBC driver option seems to make no difference.

Thanks

Andrew

For the record, I will now now answer my own question :-)

The very latest driver (Oct 2002) has two options you must use for it to
work:

1. Untick "Text as longvarchar"
2. select "dont know" for "unknown sizes"

Thanks anyway,

Andrew
