Thread: SGML...I'm confused ...
Just installed jade/docbook/dsssl-docbook-modular out of FreeBSD ports, and tried the 'test' command listed on our web site, and it generates oodles of errors, of which the following is a small part: jade:/usr/local/share/docbook/html/docbook.dsl:1:73:W: cannot generate system id entifier for public text "-//James Clark//DTD DSSSL Style Sheet//EN" jade:/usr/local/share/docbook/html/docbook.dsl:137:0:E: reference to entity "STY LE-SHEET" for which no system identifier could be generated jade:/usr/local/share/docbook/html/docbook.dsl:1:0: entity was defined here jade:/usr/local/share/docbook/html/docbook.dsl:137:0:E: DTD did not contain elem ent declaration for document type name jade:/usr/local/share/docbook/html/docbook.dsl:74:0:E: notation "DSSSL" for enti ty "dbl1pt" undefined jade:/usr/local/share/docbook/html/docbook.dsl:29:0:E: notation "DSSSL" for enti ty "dbl1en" undefined jade:/usr/local/share/docbook/html/docbook.dsl:34:0:E: notation "DSSSL" for enti ty "dbl1es" undefined jade:/usr/local/share/docbook/html/docbook.dsl:49:0:E: notation "DSSSL" for enti ty "dbl1it" undefined jade:/usr/local/share/docbook/html/docbook.dsl:96:0:E: notation "DSSSL" for enti ty "dbparam.dsl" undefined Now, FreeBSD has jade 1.2.1 (vs 1.1), and dsssl-docbook-modular of db140 vs db119 ... could these cause such a dramatic change? Or did I screw something up? Marc G. Fournier ICQ#7615664 IRC Nick: Scrappy Systems Administrator @ hub.org primary: scrappy@hub.org secondary: scrappy@{freebsd|postgresql}.org

The docs still build successfully, so your basic installation is not too fouled up. I provide my own style sheets, so did not test that aspect of your system. I don't know what the "test" command from our web site does... > could these cause such a dramatic change? Or did I screw something up? Not sure. Perhaps the catalog did not get updated during the installation? - Thomas -- Thomas Lockhart lockhart@alumni.caltech.edu South Pasadena, California

Sorry, 'test commands'...Norman lists a series of "how to install and test the installation" off his web pages that I ran through to try and narrow down where the problem was ... Marc G.
