Fix your ipc-daemon2 problems and postmaster should start up OK. Hopefully, my previous email will be helpful. Rajesh, My experience with starting postmaster as a service under Windows is that you MUST use a password with the login name. Also make sure that there is no remnant "postmaster.pid" file in your database directory when you try to start postmaster as a service. Rajesh, In the Properties window for the Postmaster service (Windows Services - usually Services under Administrative Tools or the equivalent), go to the Log On tab and make sure the option "This account: " is selected. Enter the appropriate user name and password that you are using to start postmaster under Cygrunsrv (i.e. enter the same user name and password in you Cygrunsrv command line). You will have to log on to Windows using this user name and password, and then run Cygrunsrv. If successful, it should then start automatically whenever you boot up. Once it starts as a service, if you have problems with it not starting in the future on boot up, make sure there is no postmaster.pid file in the database directory. If postmaster is NOT running, and there is a postmaster.pid file in the directory, delete the file and try to start the service again. HTH.
