This is what i am doing logged in as user belonging to the local administrator group and using ipc-daemon2 during
install,still getting the error.

r/bin/postmaster --args "-D /usr/share/postgresql/data -i" --dep ipc-daemon2

rajesh@rajesh ~
$ cygrunsrv -S ipc-daemon2

rajesh@rajesh ~
$ cygrunsrv -S postmaster
cygrunsrv: Error starting a service: QueryServiceStatus:  Win32 error 1062:
The service has not been started.


rajesh@rajesh ~
$ cygrunsrv -Q postmaster
Service postmaster exists
Type                : Own Process
Current State       : Stopped
