Finally, Resource-light CRM for Postgres

 Howdy all,

I apologize if this is offtopic, but I have FINALLY found a good open-source CRM application that runs on Postgres.

vTiger CRM is a fork of SugarCRM. The latest branch in SVN, the 4.2.4 branch, does in fact support Postgres. I've
gotit installed, and a few cursory tests (new contact, net ticket, etc.) show that it seems to work; I haven't tested
itmore fully, though the developer at vTiger says it's fully supported.

Note that their latest version, vTiger 5, does not support PG yet - they added PG support as an afterthought to the 4.2
branch. So, if someone could do comprehensive testing, we would have a CRM app to use or sell as part of comprehensive
solutionsto our clients.

You might want to check out CentricCRM instead. IMHO, it is vastly better
written than Sugar, and has more features.

The website looks impressive, but they all do.

Are there any other experience reports that show how Centric beats out Sugar?

Thanks,
Dirk

It was once described to me that SugarCRM apparently read the 100 things
to never do when developing a web application, and then implemented 75
of them.

Hmm. Is it actually OSS?

Per their document comparing the two systems:

"The major restriction is that users may not redistribute the
the Centric CRM source code. This is precisely the type of
flexible, open licensing scheme that our customers desire."

If it's not redistributable, that's not Open Source.

well then how about opentaps and openCRX, which both work with pg and
have mit/BSD licenses!!!
