Thread: Need EuroOSCON lead
Folks, We need someone to volunteer to get together speakers etc. for EuroOSCON (see my previous post). This person should be planning to go to EuroOSCON, and will need (first of all) to recruit 3 or 4 PostgreSQL speakers to submit proposals in 10 days or less. I don't think I should do this from the US (and it's likely I won't be going) and Peter isn't going either. Volunteers? -- --Josh Josh Berkus Aglio Database Solutions San Francisco

Volunteers? Josh, I wouldn't mind submitting a proposal similar to what we're planning for LWE-SF. It's just that I may not get approval to travel... Mark
Oleg, > I could help preparing talk about full text searching and other our > contribs. Please do. Make it clear in your proposal that you are the co-author of Tsearch2, OpenFTS and GiST. Since I'm having difficulty finding anyone to organize for eOSCON, please just go ahead and submit. -- Josh Berkus Aglio Database Solutions San Francisco

No, I have no possibility to take part into eOSCON. I offered my help. > > Regards, Oleg _____________________________________________________________ Oleg Bartunov, sci.researcher, hostmaster of AstroNet, Sternberg Astronomical Institute, Moscow University (Russia) Internet: oleg@sai.msu.su, http://www.sai.msu.su/~megera/ phone: +007(095)939-16-83, +007(095)939-23-83

I'm currently working on an infrastructure based on pgpool+slony-I, to prevent from db failure, permit connexion pool, a bit of load balancing, etc.. Do you think I could present it there (in english for sure). Thanks -- Jean-Paul ARGUDO www.PostgreSQLFr.org Trésorier de PostgreSQLFr OpenPGP : 1024D/93A41CA4

Simon, > Hmmm, I checked the site for Language, but there is no mention of it. > Presumably that means English only, which is a shame... I'll connect you with the organizers, and you can ask. I wouldn't necessarily assume English. > Current Ideas/Volunteers for talks: ... Also, you should know that the first Europe OSCON will be small, about 1/2 the size of the one in the US. This means that PostgreSQL is unlikely to get more than 2 or 3 talks and a BOF. Any way, I'll connect you two to Nat and you can take it from there. -- Josh Berkus Aglio Database Solutions San Francisco
