Hi Josh,

Just received this from the Product Manager at NetVault. Do you know if we have
much of this stuff already organised in the PG Advocacy project?

:-)

Regards and best wishes,

Justin Clift

Justin,

Thanks for your e-mail. My apologies for BakBone not contacting you before
our press release. Do you have a list of contacts (press, technical,
marketing) you could send me please for future reference? Perhaps, moving
forward, we may be able to do some joint marketing activities. We're heavily
involved in Linux trade shows, LinuxWorld, Enterprise Linux Forum, etc. What
outbound marketing activities is PostgreSQL involved in?

Your summary of our APM is spot-on. The original request for support for
PostgreSQL came from our Asia-Pacfic group, and much of the development was
done in our Japan office.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

Adrian Hodgson

Well, you can give them the contact list from the Advocacy page. Also,
recommend them to Bruce Momjian; if their main market is Japan-Asia, SRA
should be a natural alliance for them (unless they're competitors, of
course).

Also, I would be delighted to have their help in staging a PostgreSQL Birds of
a Feather at LWE-SF. They could take care of a conference room &
refresments, and I'd recruit attendees and speakers, and they could pitch
their stuff. Finally, I'd also be happy to stump for PostgreSQL at their
booth for a few hours, and maybe other PostgreSQLites in SF would be as well.

I was thinking they should contact press@postgresql.org... Anyone know
if the folks who were working on the press kit ever got it finished?

Did you ever hear back from BakBone about my suggestion of a BOF at LWE-SF?
