Thread: F2 key not working for editing rows on XP
Hi, My f2 key suddenly stopped working in pgadmin3 for XP -- I use it to edit rows upon selecting the 'view data' option when right-clicking on a table. I've re-started and also re-installed the app, but it's no use. Having to grab the mouse do double click is a realpain -- any thoughts? Is there a setting I've missed? There's no setting about that, and nobody else complained about that. And there's no aging component in pgAdmin3. Just going ahead typing should work (at least on win32) also. Regards, Andreas ---------------------------(end of broadcast)--------------------------- TIP 7: don't forget to increase your free space map settings

Hi, Andreas - It's the keyboard -- just got a new MS keyboard at work and didn't notice it has an 'F Lock' key at the top, near Scroll Lock. I must have hit wit inadvertently, and thereby disabled the F keys. No doubt this is what has happened to some of the others who have complained about this behavior. Thanks, Steve Andreas Pflug wrote: > Steve Fox wrote: > >> Hi, >> >> My f2 key suddenly stopped working in pgadmin3 for XP -- I use it to >> edit rows upon selecting the 'view data' option when right-clicking on >> a table. The US designers of the Windows keys (who the f**k needs them, or even knows their function?) certainly didn't spend a single second thinking about other locales that don't have brackets/braces/backslash as a direct key, but need Alt-Gr for it. I'm still using hand-selected old keyboards that have the Alt-Gr keys still in place, where they have been for > 10 years. We may be grateful we still don't have a Bill-key instead of 'G'... And I thought over the last few years they'd had some awful ones. You might also notice that there is not inesrt key on your keyboard either :P Chris ---------------------------(end of broadcast)--------------------------- TIP 4: Don't 'kill -9' the postmaster

Nice rant Andreas, but I use the windows key quite regularly. I still have Alt-Gr on my keyboard as well... (as do most, if not all UK keyboards). Do you have an additional key next to the space bar that we don't have? Regards, Dave. ---------------------------(end of broadcast)--------------------------- TIP 4: Don't 'kill -9' the postmaster
