Thread: Error number 35603 Invalid key
I am new to pgAdminII and do not understand the following: (Errors when trying to create tables) Creating a database succeeds. Then, when right-clicking it and selecting Create Object - Table I get a dialog with error in frmTable.Initialise Number 35603 Description: Invalid key I press OK en get the Table form. I can type a name but not an owner I then add one or two columns But when I press OK to create the table I get: error frmTable.cmdOK_Click Number: 91 Description: Object variable or With block variable not set I can create the table using SQL but the Table form would be nice :-) I am using Win2000Pro and have the following (no duplicates): C:\WINNT\system32\COMDLG32.OCX (ver 6.0.84.18) C:\WINNT\system32\COMCT332.OCX (ver 6.0.0.8450) C:\WINNT\system32\COMCTL32.OCX (ver 6.0.81.5) ================ Mr. JP (Petri) Jooste Skool vir Modelleringswetenskappe School of Modelling Sciences Vaal Triangle Campus Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education South Africa ************************************************* Hierdie boodskap (en aanhangsels) is onderhewig aan beperkings en 'n vrywaringsklousule. Hi, Can you recreate the error with logging switched to Full Debug (under Tools -> Options) and send the logfiles please? Thanks for the reply. I tried to recreate the error but cannot at the moment because the linux machine with the postgres server is not available. Then I tried to recreate the error using postgres on cygwin and now I do not get the error. My first guess is that it has something to do with permissions, because now (on cygwin) the Table form of pgAdmin get its "owner" field automatically filled with my username. The linux-based postgres has been set up to use md5 authentication. Could that be the problem ? ================ Mr. JP (Petri) Jooste Skool vir Modelleringswetenskappe School of Modelling Sciences Vaal Triangle Campus Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education South Africa ************************************************* Hierdie boodskap (en aanhangsels) is onderhewig aan beperkings en 'n vrywaringsklousule. Could that be the problem ? Shouldn't be if you can login. On the Linux box, (when it's back up), will it let you execute the query: SELECT * FROM pg_user Thinking about it, if the create table dialogue doesn't list all the users on the system (because you can read them) then it might well have trouble. I would be surprised that you weren't getting an error earlier though. Anyway, hopefully the logs will tell when the Linux box is available again. Regards, Dave.
