We are planning upgrade of postgresql database clusters with TB of data on hundreds of servers from postgresql 9.0.19(Rhel5) to postgresql 9.4(Rhel 7.1). But my POC is failing and giving error. I tried on sever, where there is no symlink created for tablespace. Only one data directory and custom tablespace is inside this data directory and it is still failing with bellow error:
/opt/symcor-foa/pgsql/data/pg_tblspc/federator/PG_9.0_201008051/7041482/11838
linking "/opt/symcor-foa/pgsql/data/pg_tblspc/federator/PG_9.0_201008051/7041482/11838" to "/opt/symcor-foa/pgsql/data/pg_tblspc/federator/PG_9.4_201409291/16423/13013"
error while creating link for relation "pg_catalog.pg_largeobject" ("/opt/symcor-foa/pgsql/data/pg_tblspc/federator/PG_9.0_201008051/7041482/11838" to "/opt/symcor-foa/pgsql/data/pg_tblspc/federator/PG_9.4_201409291/16423/13013"): No such file or directory
Any help will greatly appreciate. Due to size of data, we can’t do backup restore method, we must upgrade using pg_upgrade link option.
