For the one configuring the httpd.conf, using Peter's suggestion, make
sure to have:
DirectoryIndex index
since it needs to match: index + .lang + .extension
But yeah, I would agree to Peter's scheme, if only for the fact your
keep the right extension to a file (makes editing with a lot of text
editors way more friendly).
