Yes.
For me the intuitive answer would be
regression=# \d tab1 Table "foo.tab1" Column | Type | Modifiers--------+---------+----------- f1 |
integer|
Table "bar.tab1" Column | Type | Modifiers--------+---------+----------- f2 | integer |
i.e. default wildcarding of missing pieces
