Depends on how important your security is.

the pg_hba.conf entry is in the following format for the network.


host  DBNAME  IP_ADDRESS  ADDRESS_MASK  AUTHTYPE  [AUTH_ARGUMENT]

For local connection from the server itself (safe to keep as is)


local        all                                           trust
host         all         127.0.0.1     255.255.255.255     trust

From the network

host         all       192.168.1.4       255.255.255.255   trust
or more secure
host         all       192.168.1.4       255.255.255.255   password

or your whole network
host         all       192.168.1.0       255.255.255.0   trust
