Hello!
We are Professional Data Skills, a technical content marketing service based in Sydney, Australia, with a global clientele.
Due to recent client demands, we are looking for a few experienced PostgreSQL technical authors to join our team.
Required Skills/Experience:
- PostgreSQL Database: MUST HAVE strong experience in deployment, configuration, replication, database maintenance and administration, PostgreSQL engine internals, performance tuning, and PL/pgSQL development.
- Technical Authoring: MUST HAVE strong experience writing content on technical topics (blogs, whitepapers, or eBooks) including topics on PostgreSQL. Please note that this role is NOT for technical documentation writers.
- Language: 100% proficient in writing technical content in English.
- Other Databases: MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.
- Database Tools and Programming Languages
- Development Experience: Data Engineering, DevOps, Cloud
The role is part-time, contract based.
At ProDataSkills, our technical authors come from all over the world and write on topics assigned to them by our clients. These subjects cover everything, ranging from DevOps to Cloud to AI. In this particular case, the role is for a PostgreSQL subject matter expert (SME) with a great writing flair. The technical author should be able to take a general topic in PostgreSQL and related database technologies and come up with a 100% original piece of content.
More Details About the Role:
- Place of work: It is a 100% remote role. You can be anywhere in the world.
- Working Hours: Any time that suits you.
- Workload: You can write as many articles as you want or as few as you want. We give complete flexibility to our authors. For example, you may be busy with a project or a personal engagement and decide not to take on a topic that we are asking our authors to write about. In that case, all you have to do is let us know, and we will assign it to another author. However, once you are assigned a topic, we expect you to deliver quality work in the required time.
- Exclusivity of Work: We are also not in an exclusive engagement with you. In other words, you are free to write for other publications. However, the intellectual property of the content you create for us belongs to our clients, so you may not publish the articles you write for us (i.e., our clients) elsewhere.
- Writing Credit: We are a white-label agency, which means all our work is ghostwritten. You can certainly update your LinkedIn profile with a position as an "Author" for our company.
- Content Topics: You do not have to come up with technical topics to write about. Content topics are supplied by our clients and form part of our content pipeline.
- Content Size: Our blogs are usually between 1,500 words to 2,000 words. eBooks and Whitepapers are between 4,000 to 6,000 words.
- Content Turnaround Time: For blogs, this is usually between 2 to 3 weeks of us assigning a topic to you from our content pipeline. For eBooks or whitepapers, this is between 4 to 6 weeks.
- Content Quality: All content you write for us will go through stringent plagiarism and generative-AI checks, technical review feedback, and developmental editing feedback. You are expected to address any changes necessary flagged during the review and editing process. No part of the content you create for us should come from any previously-published content.
Compensation:
- We cannot disclose the rate here due to the sensitive nature and from a business competition perspective. However, rest assured, if you are shortlisted, we will contact you directly to discuss the rate.
- We pay per content piece, not by hour. Blogs, whitepapers, and eBooks - each have a separate rate.
- We pay every two weeks for all the content you have created within the past two weeks.
- We pay via direct bank transfer or via PayPal.
Other Perks:
- You will be supported by a small but hyper-focussed team, who will hold your hand whenever you need help.
- You can also become our technical editor where you review other authors' content for technical proficiency. There is a separate rate for it.
- You calso also choose to write on other technical topics and earn more, if you have the required skills and knowledge, or willing to learn those technologies.
- Where you need to spin up new infrastructure or buy new products for content purposes, we will pay for those.
