What You Will Get To Do:
Design and develop Database Architecture to solve business and
business intelligence problems in alignment with the enterprise
scalability requirements.
Architect a strategy for sharding and partitioning Postgres
Databases to meet the performance and high availability requirements of
constantly growing databases that may reach over 100TB levels.
Drive the build out of high availability and sharded database
infrastructures such as Citus-driven (or similar custom sharding and
cluster driven technologies) infrastructures using Postgres as DBMS.
Develop disaster recovery architecture that will enable a complete
failover to a data center in a different region.
Architect database backup strategies
Analyze infrastructures and develop strategies to harden DBMS
infrastructure security posture.
You will perform technical planning, architecture development, and
specification modification.
You will develop strategies and specifications for new
products/services, applications, and service offerings.
You will assess the compatibility and integration of
products/services proposed to ensure an integrated architecture across
interdependent technologies is within standards.
Lead complex database infrastructure projects that require a broad
perspective, conceptual thinking, and in-depth analysis to identify
solutions.
May also lead a process or function without direct reports.
Demonstrate a depth and breadth of expertise within a discipline
and has a deep understanding of the business, financials,
products/services, or market.
Develop policies and procedures and recommend best practices.
Advise and provide direction to other data and dba engineers.
What you will bring:
Minimally requires a bachelor’s degree and 6 years of related
experience, or a high school degree and 8 years of related experience.
5 Years experience working with Postgres Relational Databases
3-5 Years experience working on Datawarehouse Projects
5 Years Database Design and Architecture
Must have Citrus or related Postgres database sharding and scaling
experience.
Note, sharding experience is more important than citus experience
