Hi Tom.

I use EMS SQL Manager lite for Postgresql.
This is freeware version and for me is OK.

Thanks, Ilija.

Cheers!

Hi Tom,

If you need to query data more than once a week, I strongly suggest to learn command line tools like psql.
It's more difficult than a GUI tool at first but you'll become so much more efficient in the future!

If you need some help with psql, may I suggest :

Have a nice day,

Thanks, Laetitia, for the good advice. I generally do as you suggest for most regular use (usually with Perl 6 scripts), but sometimes a GUI is helpful for me looking around, especially when experimenting.

Best regards,

Hi Tom,

I write sql scripts that I can annotate with comments, then execute in
psql via the \i command.  I only type SQL directly into psql for trivial
things.

I find GUI tools cumbersome.

Gavin

metoo, I use a spreadsheet, as it is very workable for this matter ; I
export it's sheets in the text format, a pass of sed on the files to
eliminate double quotes and here we go (again:)

I've tried it and it seems quite nice. Seems perfect as a backup GUI
tool for occasions when pgAdmin acts up because of a new bug; something
that unfortunately happens often lately.

The server version would be a full replacement for pgAdmin but
unfortunately it is quite hard to setup and even more unfortunately it
doesn't install itself as a system service (on Linux at least) so it's a
non option for me at the time.

The desktop version is very handy though.

Arni
