Thread: Inappropriate Events
There are 4 events posted on postgresql.org from a company that had previously been warned about such postings. All 4 events are in the month of October and profess to offer "free stuff", unrelated to training (specifically prohibited by policy). BTW, this particular company had been given a "final" warning by Josh B some time ago... PS. I originally replied to a (very) old thread about this, but the realized that anyone using a threaded mail reader would be unlikely to see it, hence this email. -- Chander Ganesan Open Technology Group, Inc. Is this the certfirst ones? They look fine to me. What free stuff are you referring to in the posts? - -- Greg Sabino Mullane greg@turnstep.com PGP Key: 0x14964AC8 200909081549 http://biglumber.com/x/web?pk=2529DF6AB8F79407E94445B4BC9B906714964AC8 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iEYEAREDAAYFAkqmtWAACgkQvJuQZxSWSsjFbgCfT+bDrqitNkbFUIpovMdwpruf 2voAmgJU3iL4pV7kLT0HrZBD/hfOtQCQ =Zxal -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

I had previously been told by Josh B to not be specific (for litigation reasons?)... **Register Today and Get $200 Apple or Best Buy Gift Certificate of your choice!** Additionally, I believe Josh had previously emailed them indicating that they were limited to posting no more than 2 events per quarter (in this case, they've posted 4 in a single month)... I've been looking over these listings, and so far they're OK. There is a special offer, but it's buried after the course contents, rather than being in the RSS feed. And CertFirst hasn't been flooding us with events and crowding out other providers in the listings. So I don't think it's a problem at this time. But do keep it in mind for CertFirst submissions; if you start seeing free offers in the RSS feed or 12 events being submitted at once, don't approve.
