Thread: bug report form not working?
I've seen a couple people now complaining that the bug report form is rejecting all email addresses, eg > Note, I attempted to submit this via the bug reporting page at > http://wwwmaster.postgresql.org/system/handleform.php but no matter which > of my several email addresses I attempted to use, the system always > complained "The email address you entered does not appear to be valid." Can someone look into that? regards, tom lane

Magnus has indicated that this has been fixed, apparently was some sort of DNS problem. I'd like to propose we simply do away with all this fancy email checking, unless there is a strong reason to keep it around, as bug reports in particular are not something we want to discourage people from submitting. - -- Greg Sabino Mullane greg@turnstep.com PGP Key: 0x14964AC8 200612141114 http://biglumber.com/x/web?pk=2529DF6AB8F79407E94445B4BC9B906714964AC8 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iD8DBQFFgXiCvJuQZxSWSsgRAtomAJ92Yt6tRBkz+cMHkJjcvQ8maXJ+lwCg36UA iNGkl/zPJ6E+99ITRv0r/jk= =xNB6 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Yeah, it's been investigated on and off for a couple of days and various fixes tried. Magnus tested earlier today and apparently it is now OK. Regards, Dave

It helps reduce the amount of spam, and is the first time it's gone wrong since the website-before-last. The problem was triggered incidently, by recursion being disabled on the DNS servers that box was using. Regards, Dave.
