postgresql.nl

WWW folks,

I have spoken with the company which is the owner of the www.postgresql.nl
and I have been given the complete access to use it in order to build the
Dutch PG
website. I was thinking to keep the same look and feel as the main www.
Any pointers regarding this are welcome and appreciated.

If there's a dutch translation of the website, why not just point to
that? IIRC the site is entirely i18n compatible so it should be a
matter of them pointing the dns and some apache config changes on our
end.

To my knowledge there is no translation to Dutch and I would also like to
add local content that is NL specific.

Gavin,

I saw that framenwerk is used to build the
http://thepostgresqlfoundation.org/. Is there any chance to reuse that code?

Before you go too far down that path, the current website framework is
translatable, we've just not had someone with the chops to do it yet. I
certainly think you would be up to the task though... this way you could have
the dutch site integrated into the main website directly.

There is the ability to use Framewerk and we're very close to beta at
this point (that is I am using it in production on paid sites now)
and stuff is just at a clean up and document stage. I would
seriously look at translating the site using the existing
www.postgresql.org code developed by Alexy and instead providing a
translation and pointing postgresql.nl to that.

Because I want to include content that is only useful for within the
Netherlands (for example list of organizations that support/use
postgresql)
Would it also be possible to redirect only parts of the .nl site to the
translated pages on the main site?

IIRC you can make a template under nl and have it only show up on the
Netherlands site; ie. you dont have to follow the english templates exactly.
