Thread: New website launch
Hi guys, From an infrastructure POV, I believe the new website is now ready to launch. The only outstanding issues I'm aware of are the ongoing content updates that we all know about, and the update to Omar's design. If no one objects, I therefore suggest that we put the new site live as soon as Omar has committed his changes - assuming he can do that relatively quickly, it should then be ready to go prior to 8.0's release. Sound OK to everyone? Any idea how quickly you can do the work Omar? Regards Dave.

A couple of category pages need a bit of rewriting, but other than that... > Sound OK to everyone? Any idea how quickly you can do the work Omar? Well, since gborg has been down for a week... ;) I'm going to attempt a merge tonight/tomorrow. It's a tad complicated due to all the new files, moved files and changes. The patch is around 500kb. > Regards Dave. Best Regards, Omar

OK - can you add anything you don't work on but notice to the todo page please? > > Sound OK to everyone? Once you commit anything to CVS, it should go live on wwwmaster.postgresql.org within 15 minutes btw. Regards, Dave.

But still, it'd be a good idea to go live with the new design ASAP, if you ask me. regards, tom lane

And I think we'll do more work on the content updates once the site is live and we can see the results. --Josh -- Josh Berkus Aglio Database Solutions San Francisco

I had some changes written down that I seem to have lost once gborg went down... let me see if I can find them and resubmit. -- Robert Treat Build A Brighter Lamp :: Linux Apache {middleware} PostgreSQL
