heya:

my sysadmin here was asking if there will ever be 
native support for ldap in postgres?

I know that pam will of course have ldap
through it s plugin

my sysadmin suggest that native support would be more advantageous

any thoughts?

I'm not sure if its of interest to you but there was mention of OpenLDAP
support for postgresql (or some patches to achieve it) in this message:
