WAL_FILES?

Folks,

"XlogWrite: new log file created. Consider increasing WAL_FILES."

What does this mean? (documentation URLs would be great).

Is there any way to turn off x_logging until the end of a batch, or to
do away with it for a certain set of transactions entirely? The
instructions are probably here in the docs somewhere, but I don't quite
understand them ... I'm just a poor SQL-writer!
