E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with
--fix-missing?

It looks like the actual packages on the server are:
http://apt.postgresql.org/pub/repos/apt/pool/main/p/postgresql-8.4/

notice that these are *_8.4.19-1.* and not *_8.4.17-1.* like the index
is configured with.

Can someone fix this or give me a simple work-around?

Thanks,
   -Steve

Hmmm, I just tried this again and now I am getting:

W: A error occurred during the signature verification. The repository is
not updated and the previous index files will be used. GPG error:
http://apt.postgresql.org wheezy-pgdg Release: The following signatures
were invalid: KEYEXPIRED 1381654177

W: Failed to fetch
http://apt.postgresql.org/pub/repos/apt/dists/wheezy-pgdg/Release

I have installed the key as described here:
    https://wiki.postgresql.org/wiki/Apt

Hi,

see http://www.postgresql.org/message-id/20131010083115.GC24812@msgid.df7cb.de

Is that a new setup, or does it predate the key renewal?

This solved the problem. Thank you for pointing it out.
