psqlodbcw.so vs libodbcpsql.so

Hi All,

Apologies if this a simple and/or naïve question but what exactly is the difference between psqlodbcw.so and libodbcpsql.so?

Obviously psqlodbcw.so is your driver but what exactly is libodbcpsql.so and do people still use it (I am using PostgreSQL 9.1.4 at the moment in case that is relevant information)? Maybe I haven’t been searching correctly but I haven’t been able to come up with much useful information.

The reason I’m asking is because I have tried both and libodbcpsql.so seems to be approximately 5x faster in my tests. Are there known issues with this driver?

I want to use your driver since I know it is actively being worked on and is the official ODBC driver for PostgreSQL but the speed differences are huge.

If you need any more information from me (i.e. log files) just ask.

Thanks.

Are you disabling *per statement rollback on errors* functionality?

Could you send me directly the log files of your test case?
