Can anyone please explain to me what is an ODBC? i search internet and
it gives me vendors for ODBC drivers, but can any one please define it
and what is it used for?

ODBC = Open Database Connectivity

For PostgreSQL it's the drivers you need to install on Windows so that your
database can be accessed/manipulated using standard database commands.
