Version numbers and downloads

From

I notice that the download site

 http://odbc.postgresql.org/ftpsite/odbc/versions/src/

 shows version numbers 7.2.3, 7.2.4, 7.2.5

Does this imply that the equivalent versions of PostGreSQL are expected?

Also, are there md5sum info for the psqlodbc tar files?

Is there any additional information for those of us who need to use
ODBC from Unix rather than Microsoft? (the odbc driver supplied with postgres
prior to version 7.3 seemed to work just fine; now that ODBC has moved to
another site/support, we seem to have lost the ODBC capability under Unix.....)

No. The major/minor numbers signify the current PostgreSQL release, but
in theory the driver still supports version 6.2 of PostgreSQL (I think
that's Postgres95).

Nope. There can be if someone tells me what to do to generate them, but
I don't have time to figure it out right now.

You shouldn't have. What doesn't work?

Well, I am dealing with SQL statements of more then 8k doesn't work, and I
cannot get the ODBC source for 7.2.1 so it looks like I am going to have to
go to 7.3, which is fine, but there are 3 major components that I am going
to have to upgrade on my server in order to compile the driver for 7.3, and
I do not have the time to do that yet.

Unless someone knows where there is a source archive for the ODBC driver?
