compile and test in netbeans

Hi All, 

I want to learn how I can print  anything on console using printf() when I create any table or index.

I am using netbeans to see the code. I can compile the code simply using F11, but I dont know how to run the code correctly to install postgresql and then print something on console.

Please advise
