Thread: PGCluster
Hello all,
I have a query regarding PGCLuster. I could not find a cluster specific mailing list so i m posting it here.
Is it possible to install pgcluster 1.3c on a system which already has postgreSQL 8.3.3 [on FreeBSD]? or the pgcluster package installs the postgresql 8.0.1 automatically?
If there is any better way (instead of PGCluster) kindly suggest. My objective is to establish a HPC.
Thanks

Doesn't look overly active at present - http://lists.pgfoundry.org/mailman/listinfo/pgcluster-general The project appears to be a bit disorganised. Having three sites that are in different states doesn't help. If you didn't know - Cybercluster is based on pgcluster and offers commercial support. http://www.postgresql.at/english/support_cybercluster_e.html > Is it possible to install pgcluster 1.3c on a system which already has > postgreSQL 8.3.3 [on FreeBSD]? or the pgcluster package installs the > postgresql 8.0.1 automatically? I don't know if pgcluster will work on the standard data dirs. pgcluster 1.9.x uses 8.3 as the base so would be more likely to read the 8.3 data. http://pgfoundry.org/projects/pgcluster/ > If there is any better way (instead of PGCluster) kindly suggest.
