Does PostgreSQL manage an internal log of db operations?
For example, a user with uid logs into the database
and updates several rows.. Does engine log it?

Maybe you can change the debug level and redirect postmaster to a
logfile...

Are you referring to table/field change audit logging, or the log-
ging of statements?

The first thing. I'd like to log what operation a user issued (not select,
delete/update/insert only) and what rows changed..

I don't think that PG does that...
