Thread: Looking for a search tool

I have a database with multiple tables and fields. I'd like to search in
multiple fields for results. Specially for larger text fields an index
for the content would help reduce search times. The simple SELECT %text%
is just too slow for larger amouts of rows. Does anyone know a product
that can generate a usefull fulltext index over a table. An additional
Java retrieval interface would help too.
I'm open for any suggestions here.
