Hello everyone, I have an immediate opening with my client in Herndon, VA. They would like to bring someone on board immediately and are willing to relocate. A security clearance is HIGHLY preferred and US Citizenship is a non negotiable because a clearance will have to be sponsored. Postgres databases, a powerful, open source object-relational database system which runs on all major operating systems, including Linux, UNIX (AIX, BSD, HP-UX, SGI IRIX, Mac OS X, Solaris, Tru64), and Windows has native programming interfaces for C/C++, Java, .Net, Perl, Python, Ruby, Tcl, ODBC, among others therefore experience with SQL, Tomcat, and Apache preferred. *Clearance Level:* Top Secret Preferred - *US Citizen REQUIRED* Job Roles & Responsibilities: · Primary responsibility is to implement and optimize SQL to achieve maximum performance. · Collecting, storing and accessing mission critical data from internet or intranet web enabled applications. · Since Postgres features such as Multi-Version Concurrency Control (MVCC), must be able to accomplish the following: o Point in time recovery, tablespaces o Asynchronous replication o Nested transactions (savepoints) o Online/hot backups, a sophisticated query planner/optimizer o Fix bugs o Write ahead logging for fault tolerance. *Education, Skill, and Experience Requirements:* A bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field and 5 years of relevant work experience in networking engineering. *An ACTIVE security clearance is REQUIRED - No exceptions -* Department of Defense Secret or above - Top Secret preferred (DHS clearance can be considered) - For those that are not familiar with this, a DoD security clearance is ONLY issued to United States Citizens. Usually I'd expect it the other way around. Maybe they meant $150k/year salary. cheers andrew
