I have a timestamp field called "created".

I have a result set called rs. When I do rs.getDate("created"), I get a
numberformat exception. I did not get this exception using driver 7.0.
After I upgraded to 7.1, I get this exception.

Danny,

This is a known bug.  It is fixed in current sources.
