And what happened to "http://www.postgresql.org/"? Individual emails are killing me (when added to all the other mail I get). I have to unsubscribe. If someone knows how to reset digest mode and access the developer site, email me directly. * L. okay, to date I've just been manually fixing stuff like this, but its time to debug what the problem is here ... so, what have you tried to do to set it as digest, and what error did you get? Perhaps you're finding a bad mirror site? >so, what have you tried to do to set it as digest, and what error did you get? I had been getting digests up until about a week or so ago. I assumed something might have changed with the list server so I submitted a request for a digest, but keep getting individual e-mails. My request was sent to majordomo@hub.org (if I remember correctly). The body of the message was: set digest paul_sparks@circuitcity.com I wasn't sure if the mail address was needed, but I included it based on a response from the previous time I turned on digest. I got the expected confirmation e-mail from the server and replied with "accept". At this point I thought I was set, but I did not start getting digests. Later I got the following e-mail: Please respond to majordomo@postgresql.org To: Paul_Sparks@circuitcity.com cc: Subject: 5D5F-755B-8775 : CONFIRM from pgsql-hackers (set) Someone (scrappy@mail.postgresql.org) has made the following request: "set pgsql-hackers digest-daily-mime,noeliminatecc,nohide,prefix,replyto,selfcopy,norewritefrom,noackstall,noackdeny,noackpost,noackreject Paul_Sparks@circuitcity.com" It requires your confirmation for the following reason(s): scrappy@mail.postgresql.org made a request that affects another address (Paul_Sparks@circuitcity.com). If you want this action to be taken, please do one of the following: 1. If you have web browsing capability, visit <URL: http://mail.postgresql.org/cgi-bin/mj_confirm?d=postgresql.org&t=5D5F-755B-8775 > and follow the instructions there. 2. Reply to majordomo@postgresql.org with the word "accept" (without quotes) on a line by itself. If you do not respond within 4 days, a reminder will be sent. If you do not respond within 7 days, this token will expire. If you did not originate this request, believe it to be in error, or do not want it to be carried out, you may reject it by doing one of the following: 1. If you have web browsing capability, visit <URL: http://mail.postgresql.org/cgi-bin/mj_confirm?d=postgresql.org&t=5D5F-755B-8775 > and follow the instructions there. 2. Reply to majordomo@postgresql.org with the word "reject" (without quotes) on a line by itself. If you would like to communicate with a person, send mail to pgsql-hackers-owner@postgresql.org. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Again I replied with "accept" and got the following response: Please respond to majordomo@postgresql.org To: Paul_Sparks@circuitcity.com cc: Subject: Majordomo results: Re: 5D5F-755B-8775 : CONFIRM from pgsql- >>>> accept ---- Now the request must be approved by the list owner. ---- The results will be mailed to you after this is done. 1 valid command processed; it is pending. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> This is the last administrative message I got and I still have been receiving individual emails. I hope this helps narrow down the problem.

After sending a request for "http://www.postgresql.org/", I got this: "Error 400 - Proxy Error: Host name not recognized or host not found - URL http://www.404627944.com:81/postgresql/. Explanation: The server could not connect to the requested hostname due to bad syntax or an unknown host. Action: Check to make sure the URL you entered is correct, and then retry your request. URL: http://www.404627944.com:81/postgresql/ " I used to get either this or an asian site. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Get your free email from AltaVista at http://altavista.iname.com

sorry, the migration this past weekend was to remove all traces of hub.org from the list addresses ... we built a 'virtual server' that now houses the postgresql.org mailing lists, so you need to send to majordomo@postgresql.org, and it should work ... please try that and let me know if it works or not ...
