The default make target is a poor quality image, rendering aprox. 2 minutes on my 333MHz PII. So adding/removing pins can be verified/tested quickly. Only rendering the final image in full quality is what pushes the CPU against the wall. We normally give "pins" out to people who have contributed a code over a significant period of time. For example, Peter Eisentraut is almost ready for a pin. We would normally wait for his feature patches to be released, and then wait a few months to see if he is still around.
