regress[ion].* files?

By the way, what are all the regress.* and regression.* files in the
snapshot test/regress directory?

Should they really be there? Are they in the CVS tree?

I have:

    #$ lf
    CVS/ regress.c
    GNUmakefile regress.sh*
    ID@ regression.Aix41
    Makefile regression.FreeBSD
    README regression.Solaris-Sparc
    checkresults* regression.Solaris-i386
    data/ regression.diffs
    expected/ results/
    input/ sql/
    log tags@
    output/
    #$

Looks OK to me.
