Thread: drop key translation

alter table profile_projectexp drop key
profile_projectexp_person_id_6fe12f6f;

I think that this syntax is specific to mysql.  can someone translate?

What do you want to achieve? DROP the Primary Key?

ALTER TABLE profile_projectexp DROP CONSTRAINT <constraint_name>;

For instance:

test=# create table foo (id int primary key);
NOTICE:  CREATE TABLE / PRIMARY KEY will create implicit index "foo_pkey" for table "foo"
CREATE TABLE
test=*# \d foo
      Table "public.foo"
 Column |  Type   | Modifiers
--------+---------+-----------
 id     | integer | not null
Indexes:
    "foo_pkey" PRIMARY KEY, btree (id)

test=*# alter table foo drop constraint foo_pkey;
ALTER TABLE

drop index profile_projectexp_person_id_6fe12f6f;
