Postgresql Text Search

Hi

I've been using postgresql V8.3 to build a search engine for our intranet site.
This has worked very well so far proving to be quick and relevant.

However I've been wondering if postgresql's full text search supports literal matches.  IE,  matching an exact phrase in a document.
I cannot find anything pertaining to literal matches in the manual.

Does anyone know whether literal matches are support or any work around method for this.

Obviously I could fall back onto a 'like' condition but would prefer not to.

Chris Ellis

Chris, this is in our TODO. I'll give a short talk about progress in
phrase search in Pgday. In brief, we got algebra for text queries, which
was a stumbling block for years.
