I noticed that that pgAdmin invokes pg_dump with -b command line parameter.

I havent found any documentation about this parameter in Psotgres Docs.

What is the purpose of this parameter ?

According to pg_dump --help:

  -b, --blobs              include large objects in dump

You haven't looked closely enough

pg_dump --help:

  -b, --blobs              include large objects in dump
