thanks for the feedback so far on vacuum.  I'm also looking for some
information on POstgresql and connection limits.  It seems as MySQL/INNODB
is bragging abuot 1000 connections or something and while I know iwth
postgresql you can set it as high as you want, I need some real world at
least anecdotal data on simulataneous connections in the hundreds

We use PostgreSQL in support of .info and .org top level domains.  I
can assure you that, assuming the correct hardware, PostgreSQL has no
trouble with hundreds of simultaneous connections.
