Thread: Problems with Initdb in WindosXP
Hello, i'm new in postgresql, i install it on windows xp and when i try to initdb they hangup
Next are the secuence ...
$ initdb -D /usr/share/postgresql/data
The files belonging to this database system will be owned by user "parias".
This user must also own the server process.

I use cgywin, cgyipc1.13.1 and postgresql7.3.2
Any idea about this problem ?

How long is it hanging here? It might in fact take a while to create the new databases. Is there any activity showing up for postgresql when this happens, or is it at 0% CPU?
