how i can do configure a machine linux
to execute somenthings querys  and get
a really fast performance. This,
because when compared with Microsoft
SQL 2000, the postgreSQL during two
times more. I use Mandrake 9.0 and the
postgreSQL is in this version. Other:
it's really necessary that i use a
driver ODBC to access from a Windows 2000?

Well, unless you provide more details on database size, machine config, nature
of query, postgresql configuration and exact tests you did/want to perform,
it is difficult to guess a useful solution.

Did you tune postgresql first BTW?
