an exact match in the mailing list names ... which one do you
recommend me?

I guess the 'announce' list would be the place we make security
announcments.  Of course, we have never had one in 6+ years, but it is
always possible.

If your operating system comes with a packaged version of postgres that
is recent enough, I'd suggest sticking with that version - you'll be
following the OS securirity issues anyway, so you'll get the information
probably fast enough.
