Thread: PostgreSQL for PS/2 ?
Hi everyone, Sony is releasing a version of Linux for the Playstation 2 : http://playstation2-linux.com It'll be running kernel 2.2.x, gcc 2.95.2, and comes with an 10/100 ethernet adapter. If anyone gets a hold of this, it would be interesting to see if PostgreSQL 7.[1,2,3] runs on it. Talk about making for a cheap database server... (or web server, file server, ftp server, backup server, etc) :-) Regards and best wishes, Justin Clift -- "My grandfather once told me that there are two kinds of people: those who work and those who take the credit. In fact, I mentioned it at Sony when I was in Japan in December. -- Bruce Momjian | http://candle.pha.pa.us pgman@candle.pha.pa.us | (610) 853-3000 + If your life is a hard drive, | 830 Blythe Avenue + Christ can be your backup. | Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania 19026

It comes with only 32 megs of ram. But Postgresql will sure look good with the graphics chips in it! :-) On Thu, 2002-03-07 at 20:01, Justin Clift wrote: > Hi everyone, > > Sony is releasing a version of Linux for the Playstation 2 : > > http://playstation2-linux.com > > It'll be running kernel 2.2.x, gcc 2.95.2, and comes with an 10/100 > ethernet adapter. > > If anyone gets a hold of this, it would be interesting to see if > PostgreSQL 7.[1,2,3] runs on it. > > Talk about making for a cheap database server...
