Thread: Too much traffic
I'm out of here. This list has too much traffic. Too bad it's not on usenet. /Roger, overwhelmed -----Original Message----- From: Jon Brace [mailto:jon.brace@blitzthenet.com] Sent: den 8 december 2000 11:11 To: pgsql-general@postgresql.org Subject: [GENERAL] Loading tables into Memory In Oracle, there is a method bywhich tables can be loaded into memory as a method of speeding up queries. Is there anyway this can be done in Postgres? Does anyone know a good site outlining general methods of database optimisation? It's a _help_ list, after all. You think there's a lot of traffic here, you should try one of the Linux distro lists. Whew! Paul
Additionally, you could get the digest for the day which would condense everything into only a handful of emails. I'm not sure how to change your settings once you subscribe to the regular list however. There is a lot, but they also offer the list in digest form. I couldn't bear it in any other form. send "help" command to majordomo: pgsql-general-request@postgresql.org --rob ----- Original Message ----- From: "The Hermit Hacker" <scrappy@hub.org> To: "Roger Wernersson" <roger.wernersson@mindark.com> Cc: <pgsql-general@postgresql.org> Sent: Tuesday, December 12, 2000 1:53 PM Subject: Re: Too much traffic > > it is ... check out the comp.databases.postgresql.* hierarchy ... > > On Tue, 12 Dec 2000, Roger Wernersson wrote: > > > I'm out of here.
