Thread: /usr/bin/wish required for install???
I am trying to install pgsql from .RPM on a MIPS box. It gives me an error that it needs /usr/bin/wish in order to install.
Where can I get wish? I tried install Tcl as it is supposed to be a part of that somehow, but that hasn't worked either.
Best regards,
Matthew Brown

How strange. Isn't Tk only really used with X? The machine I'm installing on has no video capabilities at all. Can I still install X? <Please pardon me if this is a stupid question> Best regards, Matthew Brown SyteHost ----- Original Message ----- From: Marcin Mazurek - Multinet SA - Poznan <m.mazurek@multinet.pl> Cc: <pgsql-general@postgreSQL.org> Sent: Monday, December 27, 1999 5:29 PM Subject: Re: [GENERAL] /usr/bin/wish required for install??? I realize I am now getting off topic, but I can't cet Tk to install at all unless it finds the X11 libs... and I'm not sure I want to install X11 just to get pgsql, as great as it seems on my i386 box. Earlier PostgreSQL RPM's depended upon postgresql-clients, which depended upon tk being installed, etc. There are MIPS binaries available for 6.5.3 for Japanese users at http://alpha.or.jp/Cobalt/index.html I would say that you could grab the source RPM for this and rebuild -- however, you'll need to comment out the build and install areas for pgaccess -- and change the configure options as well. Rebuilding from source requires much more than installing the binaries. There may be other MIPS RPM's floating around that I'm not familiar with -- if anyone knows of these, I'd like to know as well. I'm going to add a section on my site (http://www.ramifordistat.net/postgres) on RPM's for non-intel machines. -- Lamar Owen WGCR Internet Radio 1 Peter 4:11
